The Price Is Right logoIf you’re a dog or cat subjected to a life without procreative sex, or one of the (alleged) grope-ees accompanying the latest and greatest microwave/hairdryer/jet-pack in a bikini or an evening gown, chances are you aren’t a huge Bob Barker fan.

But there are those of us who knew him before the plastic surgery, the ridiculous Hamilton-esque tan, and the charges of sexual harrassment. We grew up with the sweet themes of Plinko and Showcase tickling our eardrums as we began our nap each day upon arriving home from school.

And of course, Arcade Fire timed their bit of viral marketing perfectly with the recent lead-up to the permanent sign-off by the long-time host.

Now, good news for fans of production music across the globe, and great news for those of us in the States who grew up with this classic…

The Price Is Right library of production music is online for your listening pleasure.

Come On Down (sorry) and check out the classic themes of TPIR! You’ll need RealAudio, but it’s worth it. All made possible by 80sTVThemes.com.

And if you care to tell Bob what he’s meant to you over the years, you can do so in one of the creepier ‘interactive web promotions’ we’ve ever come across : 15 Seconds. [dh]

EDIT: Burst Labs Blog reader Ramo alerted us to mp3 versions of these songs, as opposed to the RealPlayer files we linked to. Check them out here. Thanks, Ramo!

    Hello,
I need your help! I can’t listen to these files. I have downloaded the real player. But, the real player keeps saying that it’s unable to launch the web browser. What do I do to get these files to play? Please help! Thanks, Tiffany. I love TPIR music!

Most likely you need to update Real Player. I don’t know whether you are reaching a higher state of consciousness with a Mac, or floating down the corpse-riddled Ganges with a PC, but try this link to find out if your player needs updating.

Obviously, we have no control over another site’s admin, and as such, no way to prevent him from hosting some real cool music in a piss-poor format. [ms]

Tiff (can we call you Tiff?),

For help with your TPIR fetish, maybe seeing Drew Carey dance to the theme song will be all the cure you need. I think he starts his new gig today. :)

(actually, Drew rocks… haven’t seen him dance, though)

No He will not help me. I love Bob too much! Bob will always b the man 4 the show in my book. No offesne to Drew. They could roll Bob out in a wheelchair on the stage, and I would still love him! Long live my Bob!

Hi, I don’t know who Ramo is, but I thank God for him. I was able to hear the music with the MP3 downloads. I don’t know why I couldn’t hear it otherwise. Some of the tunes you still need to add, like the “password” theme. I bought a gameshow theme CD, and that one is on there. Please download more of the gameshow themes. Preferrably the ones from the 80’s. The music of 83′ was awesome. All the 80’s music was. But, I also like the pyramid music too from the $25′000 pyramid. Check it out, it’s too tight!

Thanks Ramo. You are the King of MP3. I still don’t understnad why it doesn’t work. I don’t think I wanna use it to play my main files anymore. Too much of a hassle. Ramo, add the “password” theme to the files too. It’s nice. happy thanksgiving, and God bless.
