A last minute frenzy of uploading before the Christmas break means you get access to the latest R&B compilation from Burst Labs, Smooth & Soulful [r+b vol 2], long before the eggnog takes effect.

With tinges of gospel and modern laidback hip hop mixed with a live rhythm section anchored by the one-and-only Shon Hinton (of Mary J. Blige fame), playing guitar and drums while on breaks from Mary’s international touring schedule over the past few months, these 14 tracks of spiritual and sexy production music are primed for use by you - our favorite clients.

There’s a bit of everything in here, as is our preference, from modern and smooth urban production like The Dream For Life and Babydoll Slowjam (2 of the tracks composed by Shon Hinton), gritty and spare hip-hop-influenced R&B such as It’s About Time (with it’s “I wanna fall in love” bgv) and Dirt City, and a few tracks ripe for urban revival tent specials and metropolitan-based gospel services or investigations (Spy In A Cosby Sweater, Holy Anticipation, Soul Power).
