There’s a party in quirkville and you’re invited.
The latest set of odd, abnormal, uncategorizable, square-peg-in-round-hole-ish tracks of production music added to our Burst Labs catalog is a cheerful 13-song collection called Clap, Sing, Bounce [quirky vol. 2].
We’ve got clapping, singing and bouncing (of course), but we’ve also emptied the toy chest and recorded all manner of estate sale treasure and battery-operated noise maker.
Without turning this compilation into a playlist of merely strange-for-the-sake-of-strange, we’ve kept in mind how these pieces of music may help producers looking for something unique and not so run-of-the-mill.
From the simply quirky offerings of Miss Anthropy to the twisted cacophony of Robot Lunch Break, the vaguely investigative Fumes Flair to the beach-party-tinged Clap Your Hands & Sing, there’s something for everyone.
There’s even some bright and schizophrenic polka (Oom Pah Transformation), a drum line remix feature (Drumline Tension), and an easy-going ode to simpler times (Quaint Hummer) – complete with non-lyrical vocals.
So enjoy this batch of goofy fun. Click on the CD cover below to preview the entire collection, and there’s much more new music on the way soon. [dh]
