Old Man Malcolm Lambeau Access Pass 128pxThis year marks the 50th anniversary of Lambeau Field, and Burst’s own Old Man Malcolm has been appointed Game Operations Commander for music production at Lambeau for the 2007 Green Bay Packers football season.

Um, we’re a little giddy-goofy about this, being as we’re unabashed Packer fans. Duh.

Whether he needs to pick tracks to celebrate scores, pump audio into the stadium to jack up the crowd, or simply provide his natural abilities as a DJ for television timeouts, all the music you hear (if you’re lucky enough to score a ticket - been sold out since the 1960s) is being played for you by Old Man Malcolm.

As Malcolm humbly puts it :

70,000 people need to hear Mony Mony and I’m the dude with the power.

And yes, in case you were wondering, we now have official confirmation from our new inside source that Gary Glitter’s Rock and Roll, Pt. 2 (aka “the ‘Hey’ song”) is no longer on the approved playlist for NFL games. Apparently there’s a few at the league office who think convicted child molesters shouldn’t be promoted at football stadiums across America no matter how few people can actually name the artist of the given song - a task made all the more difficult by featuring a single gang lyric, “Hey.”

Now if only we can arrange to have the Baha Men and Los del Rio get caught in an underage Vietnamese “massage parlor.”

Big time kudos, Malcolm! I hope the flood of requests to play your Burst Labs songs isn’t too overwhelming… we don’t want to jeopardize your new cush gig. [dh]

“rock n roll part ii” no longer played at sporting events? maybe it’s safe to go to one now. god damn i hate that song. (it does make for a pretty cool soundclash with roadhouse blues though, try it sometime - i did it for a quaker state ad)

is it safe to assume “i’ve seen better days” will be played for all timeouts, missed opportunities and commercial breaks? conflict of interest? nahhhh….

re: “Better Days”… we had the exact same thought when we were at the Chargers game earlier this year!

We were sitting right under the speaker stacks in the North end zone and tried yelling “BETTER DAYS! BETTER DAYS!” as Todd Rundgren’s Bang The Drum blasting was over our heads at 110 db… but, ah, two problems… we were drinking and incapable of screaming coherent instructions (#1) and we found out later that Malcolm is actually in a booth along the production office side of the stadium (#2).

So we just looked like crazed CitizenKingFans/MalcolmStalkers who were still livin’ the dream circa 1998. I’m okay with that.

Where’s Soulja boy been? Missed it last game. Need to keep those Party songs going to keep that G-Force in the game. Noticed how when the songs end so does the crowd! Keep em coming. Great job! Well…the polka, guess that’s Wisconsin

Anybody know the name of the song played after the playoff game v. Seattle. Something with the lyrics, “Ain’t nobody going to stop me now.”

I am looking all over for a song I heard at a Packers game, and a few other stadiums. It is played right after the team introduction. It is a song with great guitar and the only words are oh, oh, oh, oh. Do you know the title and artist?

I was at the Green Bay/Dallas game (9/21/08)…I heard a song that said, in part..”WELCOME TO THE TUNDRA”. The music was NOT to the tune of “Welcome to the jungle” by Guns N’ Roses. Can you tell me what is the name of this song, and who recorded it? Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!
